Ripple Junction

Ripple Junction began in 1992 by peddling shirts at a Grateful Dead show. Today they are a large producer and wholesaler of officially licensed pop culture goods. Ripple Junction has a talented team of trend-focused apparel designers, but they needed help from an outside source to think about the brand itself. They had a logo and an anchor color, but no real consistent look and feel or common thread (pun intended). We helped Ripple Junction evolve, define and strengthen the presence of the brand.

FINDING A STYLE

After discovery meetings and going through strategy conversations, we explored new design elements and how they all could come together using "styelscapes."

A LOOK THAT FIT

We landed on a look and feel that used the brand orange as an anchor and a unique teal complementary color. Stamps, stickers, labels and overlays gave the look a tactile, printed feel. A sense of authenticity of fandom. Ripple Junction produces more unique licensed apparel than competitors. A deeper understanding of the licensed properties and a design team of true pop-culture fans, makes for a brand that has a created by fans, approved by fans sensibility.

A TAILORED IDENTITY

We built a brand guide that gave Ripple Junction the common thread they needed. With the free-spirited, Deadhead roots, there was still the freedom to riff and be playful with the brand. But, there were core foundational elements and themes to return to that brought clarity and consistency in marketing.

“In a few words, Sharpe Creative is talented, witty, fun, dynamic, compassionate, and positive. Sharpe Creative did an amazing job refreshing our company's branding. Andy took exactly what we know our brand is about and brought it to fruition.”
